ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kyoto. Welcome dinner at a traditional Japanese ryokan and an introduction to mindfulness practices.
Day 2: Guided tour of Kyoto's Zen temples, including Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and the Ryoan-ji rock garden. Evening Zen meditation session.
Day 3: Travel to Koyasan, the sacred mountain. Stay in a Buddhist temple, experiencing daily rituals and participating in a tea ceremony.
Day 4: Morning calligraphy session with monks, followed by a hike to Okunoin, the temple cemetery. Spend the night in a zen temple, enjoying the tranquility of the mountains.
Day 5: Begin the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage on foot, following the ancient trails that connect sacred shrines. Stop for lunch at a local village along the way.
Day 6: Continue the Kumano Kodo journey, visiting the Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine. Evening hot spring relaxation in the sacred mountains of Kawayu Onsen.
Day 7: Return to Kyoto for a farewell breakfast and last visit to the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine before departure.
